Inositol, PCOS, Menstrual Cycle

Here’s my semi-famous Inositol email… feel free to give me a shout out on social media if you find it helpful.

In fact, if you really want to say thank you. Go thank me on my posts.

Those posts are also the best places to ask me questions!

Hey!

As an educator, it’s always nice to have something to ‘wow’ people with, when they come hear you speak.

As a business, the information I am going to give you in this email is obtainable in three of our paid offerings.

However,

In October 2017 I made this announcement to about 500 of the PTs, Nutritionists, Dietitians and Doctors that I mentor.

Since then, the feedback I have received has been so overwhelming that I feel compelled to share it with you.

It’s literally changing peoples’ lives.

In fact, lives are being created. #BirdsAndTheBees

This help is somewhat specific to women who have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome or PCOS.

But perhaps goes further than that to any females who have menstrual cycle dysfunction.

Even further still, in the future, you might get an email from me saying its worth supplementing in women AND men who have pre-diabetes/Type 2 diabetes!

I’m going to get to the punchline really quick.

If you have PCOS or menstrual cycle dysfunction you might benefit from supplementing Myo-Inositol.

Why?

Well, I have been looking at the Inositol research for 10 years now.

I can still remember telling people they were idiots for supplementing with it back in the days of the MyProtein forums.

I’m a skeptic when it comes to ANY supplements. Probably to my detriment.

However, the evidence-base around Inositol (and the safety of its use) is just too compelling to ignore anymore.

These are the possible beneficial effects:

Improvements in insulin sensitivity, ovarian function, menstrual cyclicity, reductions in free testosterone, significant weight loss and improved blood lipids/pressure.

Here’s a slide that I presented at our Clinical Nutrition conference with some references if you’re into that geek stuff.

Anyway, I won’t go into any more depth on this.

I could do a ‘Joe Wicks’ here and earn money by creating an Inositol product or adding an affiliate link but…

I really don’t want anyone to not heed my recommendation because they think I might somehow be biased by £££.

I gain nothing from this product recommendation:

Click Here ==> 500g Myo-Inositol (£22.99)

(I just know if I don’t tell you which one to buy I’ll get several hundred messages asking me where to buy it)

2-4g per day is a seemingly good starting dose.

There is another form of Inositol called D-Chiro-Inositol, don’t use that.

(And if you insist on using it, DM me on Instagram for advice.)

Take it daily for 6 months.

Results can come much sooner but for some people/issues, it can take that long.

Eating well and exercising are only going to enhance your results.

I got so many email replies asking me these 3 things:

1) Can I take Inositol with other medications & are there any side effects?

2) Can I take Inositol in pill/tablet form instead of powder form?

3) Can it help with IVF!

Here are the answers to those questions!

1) Can I take Inositol with other medications & are there any side effects?

You can take Inositol with other medications, even medications that are often given to females with PCOS like metformin.

At the dose I suggest, there are rarely if ever any negative side effects. At much higher doses (12g/day) it has been shown to cause nausea, stomach pain and headaches in some people. So, don’t be that person who thinks more is better…

2) Can I take Inositol in pill/tablet form instead of powder form?

Yes. There is no reason this would be an issue. If it only says Inositol, it usually means it is Myo-Inositol. I don’t have a specific product recommendation, sorry.

3) Can it help with IVF?

Yes.

Last but not least,

If you do use this advice, with yourself or with a client (depending on who are you are!)

Please feedback to me about your experiences! Even if that experience is ‘it did nothing for me’.

That’s all from me for now!

Much Love,

Martin
